Plateful is designed to help you track nutrition and related habits while keeping you in control of sensitive information. This policy explains the categories of data Plateful may process, why they are used, and the choices available to you.
Data you provide
This may include profile and nutrition-goal information, foods and meals, recipes, water, weight, fasting records, preferences, feedback, and information submitted to support. If you create an account, Plateful also processes the identifiers required to authenticate and synchronize supported account data.
Apple Health
Health access is optional and permission-based. Plateful uses only the Health data types you approve to show connected nutrition or activity context. Health data is not used for advertising and is not sold. You can change Health permissions in iOS Settings.
Meal photos and AI analysis
If you choose Meal Scan, the selected photo and necessary request metadata are sent through Plateful's protected service for analysis. Results are estimates that you must review before logging. Meal Scan is not a medical device and should not be used for diagnosis or treatment.
Food providers
Food searches may use USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts through Plateful's service. Provider results can be incomplete or inaccurate; always verify information that matters to your health.
Purchases
Apple processes App Store payments. RevenueCat helps Plateful determine whether your account has active Plateful+ access. Plateful does not receive your full payment card number.
Analytics, diagnostics and tracking
Plateful asks for permission before any activity that requires Apple's App Tracking Transparency authorization. Essential product diagnostics and privacy-respecting analytics may be used to understand reliability and improve features. Advertising tracking is not required to use the core app.
Storage and synchronization
Core nutrition data is local-first. When you sign into a Plateful account and sync is available, supported account data is stored in Plateful's Supabase backend under your account identifier so you can restore it on another device. Reasonable technical and organizational controls are used, including row-level access policies.
Your choices
You can review permissions, export supported data, sign out, cancel subscriptions in Apple's subscription settings, and request deletion from inside the app. See the account deletion page for details.
Retention and deletion
Data is retained only as needed to provide the service, meet security and legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Account deletion removes the account and associated cloud data according to the in-app confirmation. Some purchase records may remain with Apple or processors where required by law.
Children
Plateful is not directed to children under 13 and is not intended to replace professional care. Local age requirements may differ.
